AP Top 25 Poll: College Football Week 2 Rankings
Ohio State Reclaims No. 1 Spot in AP Top 25
Week 1 of college football didn’t disappoint. All eyes were on Arch Manning’s showdown against Ohio State, while LSU, Illinois, Florida, and other notable programs showed they belong in the Top 25. Meanwhile, Bill Belichick’s college coaching debut at North Carolina was spoiled by TCU, who rolled past the Tar Heels. Despite receiving votes, TCU still fell short of cracking the rankings.
With Week 1 in the books, the AP Top 25 poll is officially out. Texas, who opened at No. 1, dropped to No. 7 after their critical loss to Ohio State — the Buckeyes reclaiming the top spot in the process. Still, Texas’ defense looked solid, and putting Arch Manning against the defending champs on the road was always a tall order. Penn State, LSU, Georgia, and Miami round out the Top 5. Looking ahead to Week 2, the only ranked matchup features No. 15 Michigan traveling to Norman to face No. 18 Oklahoma. Check out the full AP Top 25 poll above and the official press release here.
