Apple Confirms Death To iTunes, Announces iOS 13, iPad OS and More
Apple kicked off WWDC 2019 with a huge announcement that marks the end of an era, with the beloved iTunes finally being retired. After nearly two decades as the central hub for music, movies, and device management, Apple is breaking iTunes apart into three dedicated apps, Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Podcasts, with the launch of macOS Catalina later this year.
The change represents Apple’s shift toward a more streamlined, service-driven ecosystem. Music lovers will still have access to their existing iTunes libraries, but going forward, media content will live across the new dedicated apps. Device syncing and backups are moving into Finder, making the overall experience cleaner and faster. You can catch the recap above thanks to MacRumors.
