Apple Unveils iOS 26, Liquid Glass & More at WWDC25
If world news had your attention today, you might’ve missed Apple’s 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference. The annual event highlights Apple’s latest software updates and gives developers an early look at new features across the entire Apple ecosystem.
Today, Apple unveiled Liquid Glass — a new, expressive material designed to mimic the look and behavior of real glass. It features real-time rendering and responds dynamically to movement, complete with specular highlights that give the interface a more fluid and interactive feel. This new design language brings a fresh sense of life to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. As part of the rollout, Apple is introducing a unified naming convention across platforms: iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26 — a move that simplifies the ecosystem and helps users keep track of updates more easily.
One standout is iPadOS 26, which takes visual cues from the MacBook Air, giving the iPad a more professional edge that boosts its potential for work and entertainment. While some Apple critics might dismiss the changes as incremental, we think the updates bring much-needed polish, consistency, and tighter device integration across the board.
We expect the updates to roll out this fall, and beta testers can already download and install the preview versions starting today.
