Lionsgate Unveils The Official Teaser For ‘MICHAEL’
Lionsgate releases the first teaser for MICHAEL, the highly anticipated biopic starring Jaafar Jackson as his legendary uncle Michael Jackson. The film, set for April 2026, promises to explore the King of Pop’s extraordinary life and legacy.
It feels like this movie was long overdue. Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, and sixteen years later Lionsgate has finally put together an official biopic simply titled MICHAEL. The film stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s real-life nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson, who takes on the monumental challenge of portraying the King of Pop in his debut acting role, what a way to kick off a career. The movie also features an impressive supporting cast, including Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo.
This project probably wasn’t easy to execute, Michael’s greatest moments were lived on stage and in front of cameras, but fans can expect the film to explore more of his private life, family, and legal struggles, similar to how HBO explored controversial aspects of his life in the official documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’. The first teaser is brief but powerful, setting the stage for what could be one of 2026’s biggest releases. MICHAEL is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026.
