An Unforgettable Game 7 in Toronto

What a World Series we just witnessed. For nine innings, it looked like the Toronto Blue Jays were finally going to capture their first championship in over 30 years. But baseball had other plans.

Down to their last two outs, Miguel Rojas tied the game in the top of the ninth with a clutch hit that kept the Dodgers’ dream alive. Blue Jays fans will feel this one for a long time, not only were they two outs away from glory, but they also entered Game 6 with a 3–2 series lead and dropped both home games.

Toronto nearly had its moment when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sent one deep to the warning track in the bottom of the ninth, but it fell just short. In the 11th inning, Will Smith delivered the knockout blow with a massive home run that put Los Angeles ahead for good.

It’s a heartbreaking finish for a young and talented Blue Jays team that could see key players test free agency this offseason. Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ depth, experience, and payroll once again proved unstoppable, securing the first back-to-back World Series titles in 25 years, a feat not seen since the Yankees’ early-2000s dynasty.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto Named World Series MVP

Series MVP honors went to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched 2⅔ innings on zero days’ rest after throwing in Game 6, a remarkable effort that sealed his postseason legacy.
