NBA Free Agency 2025: Biggest Moves & Offseason Updates

It has been an eventful 2025 free agency season for the NBA. Teams trading and waiving franchise players and showing how fast teams move on from players. Here are a few moves that have shocked the association this offseason:
Damian Lillard
The Milwaukee Bucks wasted no time after waiving Damian Lillard. They quickly moved on, signing Myles Turner fresh off a phenomenal season with the Indiana Pacers. The two sides agreed to a four-year, $107 million deal, giving Giannis some much-needed support. Turner was arguably the top free agent on the market and proved his value during the Pacers’ impressive Finals run. It’s just another reminder of how fast teams and players move on in today’s NBA.
Myles Turner Signs With Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks wasted no time after waiving Damian Lillard. They moved on fast and signed Myles Turner who came off a phenomal season with the Indiana Pacers. They agreed to a four-year $107 million contract getting Giannis some major help. Myles was arguably the best free agent on the market and really shined with the Pacers during this NBA Finals run. This shows how fast teams and players can move on to other teams these days.
Kevin Durant Headed To Houston
The reality is, Kevin Durant can still hoop. But at 36 years old, time is starting to run out for the two-time champion. Since leaving the Warriors in 2019, he hasn’t found a true home—and now Houston becomes his third team since that departure. The Rockets went all-in, trading Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and five second-rounders. It’s a big gamble, banking on a 36-year-old KD to push them over the hump. While Durant can still dominate, he’ll need serious support on both ends of the floor if he wants to chase another ring.
Lonzo Ball Traded By The Bulls
It seems like the Chicago Bulls have been rebuilding for the past 10 years. Fans were shocked to see Lonzo Ball get traded to Cleveland for Isaac Okoro. The Cavalier are stacked and have a lot of depth on the bench so it was difficult for Okoro to get minutes and the ball. A healthy Lonzo Ball can really help the Cavalier off the bench and make another playoff push.
Brooke Lopez Heads To The West Coast, Signs With The Clippers
The Milwaukee Bucks are making moves. This time, they let longtime center Brook Lopez sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. Brook spent seven seasons with the Bucks, winning a championship in 2021, and was one of the team’s most reliable players throughout the years. It’s clear the Bucks are looking to get younger, and at age 37, Milwaukee just didn’t seem like the right fit anymore. The Clippers offered him a two-year deal worth $18 million. Brook will likely back up Ivica Zubac and add depth to their bench. With a roster that still includes James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers remain a threat in the Western Conference.
