Nirvana, The Supremes, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick and More To Receive The 2023 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

It feels like this should’ve been done years ago.
Today, the Recording Academy announced that it will be paying tribute to Nirvana, The Supremes, Nile Rodgers, Slick Rick, Ma Rainey, Bobby McFerrin, and Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart by awarding them the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Recording Academy posted via their Instagram that This Special Merit Award is presented by vote of the Academy’s National Trustees to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance.
The Special Merit Awards Ceremony will return to Los Angeles the day before the Grammys ceremony on February 4, 2023.
Good to see these artist get this type of recognition.
The 2023 Grammys will air on CBS February 5th at L.A.’s Crypto Arena and hosted by Trevor Noah.
