UFC 322: Maddalena vs Makhachev Preview + Odds
UFC 322 might be the most stacked card of the year as Islam Makhachev moves up to challenge Jack Della Maddalena in New York City. Zhang Weili also jumps to flyweight for a massive showdown with Valentina Shevchenko. From the prelims to the main event, this card is loaded with high-stakes fights.

Dana White really saved the best for New York City as the UFC’s mega-deal with ESPN winds down. UFC 322 is absolutely stacked, so stacked that rising stars Erin Blanchfield and Bo Nickal are pushed all the way down to the prelims. That tells you everything. These are two of the youngest, most popular fighters in the sport, yet the main card is so loaded that there simply wasn’t room.
From the prelims all the way to the final walk, UFC 322 is filled with matchups that matter.
Let’s start with the main event. Islam Makhachev isn’t just chasing history — he’s daring to create it. The lightweight champion is moving up in weight to face current welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena, one of the most dangerous strikers Australia has ever produced. It’s almost unreal to see a reigning champ walk in as a +230 underdog, but that’s how much respect Makhachev commands. His dominance speaks for itself.
In the co-main event, Zhang Weili is also testing greatness by moving up to flyweight to challenge Valentina Shevchenko, a future Hall of Famer who has fought every top name in the division. From Amanda Nunes to Joanna Jędrzejczyk to Alexa Grasso, Shevchenko has taken on all comers. But Weili is a warrior in every sense. She’s hungry, she’s powerful, and she wants that second belt. Skill-for-skill, this might be the most technically elite women’s fight we’ve seen in years.

And the depth doesn’t stop there.
Sean Brady returns against the undefeated knockout threat Michael Morales. Leon Edwards steps back into the octagon opposite Carlos Prates. Beneil Dariush looks to claw his way back into title contention against the relentless Benoit Saint-Denis. Every fight on this card feels like it could headline a Fight Night.
The New York City crowd is going to be electric, and with champions moving divisions, rising contenders, and multiple divisions on the line, UFC 322 has all the makings of a special night. Don’t be surprised if we walk out of MSG with more than one new champion.
