UFC Fight Night: Usman vs Buckley Preview + Odds
Kamaru Usman Returns After Long Break
Things haven’t been the same for Kamaru Usman since his devastating knockout loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 278 in 2022. He’s now riding a two-fight losing streak and hasn’t seen action since 2023. The hope is that this time off helped him reset mentally and physically as he steps into a dangerous matchup with the surging Joaquin Buckley. Despite the setbacks, Usman remains ranked #5 in the stacked Welterweight division, thanks to his championship pedigree and resume. Buckley, on the other hand, is climbing fast and hungry for a shot at Jack Della Maddalena’s belt. Usman enters this bout as a +225 underdog, and while a win could catapult him back into title contention, a loss would mark three straight defeats and a major blow to his UFC future. With knockout power on both sides, don’t expect this one to go the distance, this could be a wild one and end early.
Can Miranda Maverick Handle a Former Champ?
In the co-main event, two-time champion Rose Namajunas returns to the Octagon to face rising contender Miranda Maverick in a high-stakes Women’s Flyweight bout. Rose last fought in November against the tough Erin Blanchfield, going the distance and showing flashes of her championship form. Miranda is a promising young talent, but she hasn’t faced an opponent with Rose’s experience and skill set. This will be a true test for Maverick—and a key opportunity for Rose to remind the division she’s still a threat. Solid co-main event as the UFC keeps the momentum going into the second half of the year. Full fight card and odds are listed below.
