It’s finally happening — Netflix is releasing a brand-new documentary, Selena y Los Dinos, celebrating the life and legacy of Selena Quintanilla. The film features never-before-seen family footage and exclusive interviews, giving fans an intimate look at the beloved Tejano icon’s rise to stardom and lasting influence on music and culture.

It’s been 30 years since the tragic death of Selena Quintanilla, who was killed by Yolanda Saldívar in 1995. It’s hard to believe that a full-length Netflix documentary has never been made to tell her incredible story. until now.

This fall, Netflix will release Selena y Los Dinos, a new documentary giving longtime fans access to rare, never-before-seen family footage and an intimate look at her rise to stardom. Directed by Isabel Castro and executive produced by Michele Anthony along with Selena’s siblings Suzette and A.B. Quintanilla III, the film explores the legacy of a star whose impact on music and culture continues to inspire generations.

The documentary premiered to strong reviews at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and will make its global debut on November 17. Watch the official trailer above.
