2024 NBA Finals: Dallas Mavericks vs Boston Celtics Odds + Preview
The 2024 NBA Finals are here.
The Celtics cruised to the Eastern Conference Finals. Injuries were on their side, but they do have a stacked and deep lineup, so they shouldn’t be doubted. The Mavericks came out of a talented Western Conference, taking down the Clippers, Thunder, and the Timberwolves. The Mavs also benefited from Luka and Kyrie playing extremely well boosting the offense for them.
This series also has a lot of storylines, with Kyrie Irving going back to Boston, where he played for two seasons, and things didn’t end well. Let’s not forget he stepped on the logo in a disrespectful way during his short stint in Brooklyn when they played each other. We expect a lot of boos from the local fans.
Another storyline is Porzingis playing his old team on the big stage. If he stays healthy, he can be dangerous and a problem for Dallas. But the storylines are just storylines, and you have to play basketball. Both teams are well rested, with the over at 217.5 before tipoff and the Celtics -6.5 point favorite at home.
We expect a close game and believe Dallas will test the Celtics in game 1. Historically, the Celtics don’t play well in Game 1s, and the easy road to the Final will be something to watch. So it’s time to play, and we hope for a very competitive series without injuries. The celebrities will be out in the woods, and we will see who can step up for their team and lift the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
