J. Cole Announces The Fall Off Release Date, Drops New Song

After months of uncertainty, J. Cole has officially announced his long-awaited album The Fall-Off. Alongside the reveal, he shared a new song, “Disc 2 Track 2,” offering fans a creative glimpse into what to expect ahead of the project’s February 6 release.

It almost started to feel like J. Cole’s long-teased album The Fall-Off might never arrive. After the fallout from the highly publicized Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar feud, where Cole publicly apologized and stepped away, he went radio silent, leaving many fans wondering if the project had been shelved for good.

That uncertainty ended today. J. Cole officially pulled back the curtain, unveiling a teaser, release date, album artwork, and a new song believed to live on the project. The announcement immediately sent the internet into a frenzy, with fans circling February 6 as the expected release date. The teaser itself is stripped down and intentional, following Cole through everyday moments while a voiceover reflects on what The Fall-Off truly represents.

The accompanying track, “Disc 2 Track 2,” showcases Cole at his most creative, telling a story in reverse, from his later years back to his birth. The concept recalls Nas’s classic “Rewind” from Stillmatic, highlighting Cole’s respect for hip-hop storytelling while putting his own spin on it. Despite criticism he faced for bowing out of the Drake–Kendrick conflict, moments like this make it impossible to ignore his lyrical talent.

Both visuals feel unmistakably on brand for Cole and set a clear tone for what’s to come. For now, check out the clips above and below.

The Fall-Off is coming.
