Taylor Swift dropped The Life of a Showgirl back in October, setting the tone heading into her high-profile wedding to Travis Kelce this past summer. She’d stayed musically quiet since tying the knot, but that ends tonight as she surprises Swifties with The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. Taylor adds four new songs to the album and will also premiere a cinematic music video for “Patient Zero” this Sunday at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, which she directed herself. The video reportedly features Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson as costars, and Swift is also set to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honor at this year’s ceremony. This isn’t her first surprise expansion, either, she similarly caught fans off guard with a deluxe edition of The Tortured Poets Department back in 2024.
