Marvel Reveals New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Footage at D23
There’s a lot of hype surrounding Avengers: Doomsday with the Russo Brothers returning as directors. Marvel Studios and Disney gave fans their first extended look at what to expect from the upcoming film back in July, and tonight, a new “Special Look” premiered at D23, this time shining a spotlight on Doctor Doom. The new footage dives into Doom’s history with Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and teases a massive battle involving Thor and the X-Men. Robert Downey Jr. took the stage alongside Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell to reveal the new look, with Evans and Atwell teasing that Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s happy ending from Endgame may not be so simple after all.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds also crashed the panel in a surprise video message. Marvel also revealed a new poster for the film during the event. One of the original trailer’s biggest moments still stands out: Chris Hemsworth’s Thor tests whether Steve Rogers is truly back by extending Mjolnir, and the hammer flies straight to his hand, confirming Captain America’s return. It’s Marvel’s biggest rollout since Thunderbolts, and Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters December 18. You can catch the new Special Look above.
