Anderson .Paak & Cordae Pay Homage to ‘Friday’ in New ‘A Good Day’ Video

Cordae and Anderson .Paak have announced a new joint album titled Heavy Is The Crown. The duo kicks off the rollout with “A Good Day,” produced by Hollywood Cole and accompanied by a Dave Meyers-directed video inspired by the classic film Friday.

To be honest, we weren’t expecting this specific collaboration, though Anderson .Paak has never been one to shy away from a joint project. He’s already given us Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars and NxWorries with Knxwledge, even teaming up with Knxwledge for “Daydreaming” more recently. Now he’s linking up with Cordae, a great rapper in his own right, for a new joint album titled Heavy Is The Crown. This isn’t even their first time in the studio together, the two previously teamed up for “Two Tens” back in 2023. They kick off the album rollout with a cinematic video for the standout single “A Good Day,” directed by Dave Meyers, paying homage to the classic film Friday with a cameo from Jennifer Freeman. The song is produced by Hollywood Cole and samples Bill Withers’ classic “Lovely Day.” Great way to kick off the rollout, we’ve got a feeling this is going to be a great project.
