J. Cole’s Independent ‘INDIE 5000’ Sneaker Drops Tomorrow in Fayetteville

J. Cole has officially introduced the Dreamer Indie 5000, the first sneaker from his independent Dreamer Inc company. Five years in the making, the Italy-developed silhouette draws inspiration from classic basketball footwear and initially launches in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

J. Cole is no stranger to the sneaker game. He partnered with Puma in the early 2020s, dropping the RS-Dreamer and Dreamer 2 during his run with the brand. But all good things come to an end, and Cole eventually parted ways with Puma to launch his own independent sneaker company, Dreamer Inc. Since his breakthrough in music, J. Cole has always been a savvy businessman — from crafting hit records to building the Dreamville label and festival, to playing professional basketball overseas, and now launching his own sneaker line with the Dreamer Indie 5000.

Cole and his team flew to Italy to craft the sneaker, featuring synthetic panels across the upper and sharp lines running down the midsole. The design seems simple on the surface, drawing inspiration from older basketball silhouettes, but it’s been five years in the making, according to the promo shared via the Dreamer Inc X account.
