Ten years after “The Race” made him a viral sensation as a teenager, Tay-K is ready to start a new chapter. Now 26, the rapper has spent nearly half his life incarcerated, living with the consequences of choices he made before he could even legally drive. He says the time away has forced real growth, and he’s hoping to use his platform to steer other kids away from the same path he took. His new single, “PYD” (short for “Punch You Down”), shows he hasn’t lost a step lyrically or lost his sense of humor, even while delivering a more mature message. Produced by Warpstr, the bass-heavy track finds Tay-K encouraging today’s youth to settle beef the old-fashioned way, with fists instead of guns.
