UFC 306 at The Sphere Delivered, Merab and Valentina Come Out as Champs
UFC put on a show in Vegas at the incredible Sphere. Noche UFC delivered inside The Sphere, with Dana White putting on a fantastic event for UFC 306. From the start, the views behind the octagon were beautiful, and the screen was breathtaking.
Great graphics and videos played throughout the event, which made it so cool. The main event had fireworks from the start with Ronaldo Rodriguez surviving some brutal punches and taking the win in a decision. Daniel Zellhuber and Esteban Ribovics put on a boxing master class going toe to toe.
Diego Lopes dominated Brian Ortega from the start of the fight. He tried putting him away early but couldn’t do it eventually winning in decision. Diego Lopes seems to be in line to get the championship fight in that stacked featherweight division. Valentina Shevchenko regained her belt after dominating Alexa Grasso in their trilogy fight. Valentina took her to the ground and dominated her, with the fans not liking her strategy. But she won in a unanimous decision.
The main event had less fireworks. Merab did what he said he would do by taking Sean O’Malley to the ground and not letting him strike. That’s where Sean O’Malley is dangerous, and Merab knew that if he took him down, he had a chance at winning the Bantamweight title. He won in a split decision to take the belt away from O’Malley.
Overall, it was an excellent event, and UFC did it right. The views looked stunning, and the fights were delivered, creating a whole new experience. Check out some of the interviews and highlights below.
